I was taught to sew at a very young age by my Lancashire mother, whose family owned a cotton Mill.
I still have her now 1004 year old Singer.
I made clothes for myself and my family for many years, but more recently have learned to quilt. I belong to a local Quilting Group, and am a member of SW Quilters Guild.
I love to find really unusual and colourful fabrics and turn them into something simple, practical, and eye-catching.
I also love crochet, and with the help of YOUtube, have developed my skills. I use colour combinations, and have used patterns from two of my favourite designers to make some colourful cushions and afghans.
I also rekindled a love for macrame, which I taught at evening class many years ago. I have made wall hangings, and plant holders, and will be making more in the future.
I love being part of Ivybridge Artisan market, which helps to showcase some of the talent we have here, and provides a friendly atmosphere, and chance to socialise with each other, and share ideas and tips.
